iPhone Can Detect Skin Cancer

The latest breakthrough in technology allows an advanced communication tool to help diagnose cancer. With the addition of a type of device called Handyscope, iPhone can now be enabled to help doctors detect skin cancer.

Besides Handyscope which is connected, the iPhone also needs to be added so that the application is functioning as dermataskop gadgets, tools commonly used in doctors to detect melanoma.

Equipment manufactured by FotFinder, a German company, uses light polarization to detect whether a mole is cancerous. This tool then take pictures and send them to the doctor for a checkup.

This tool was welcomed by cancer specialists. Cancer researcher at Salford University Dr David Pye said, the tool is very useful for people who work doing diagnosis mole.

"Sending pictures to various experts in the world for diagnosis is very helpful," said Pye.

According to Pye, this tool can also do with a good introduction. In the examination of moles, experts usually look for the edge of an irregular and unusual color.

"It could very well recognize it," he said.

However, Pye also said that the tool is not a tool for making a diagnosis in the home. The tool doctors use to look for another opinion.

According to marketing manager Valeska Heinrich, this tool makes inspection easier to skin because it can carry. "The picture on the screen displays detail so the decision can be taken quickly," he added.
